Once a year we have a line swap at the Top. Then the students choose a new line and get to try something completely new. New teacher, new activities and new friends. Recommended!

The new Sports and Outdoor Activities class has had good variety of pupils from almost all lines. It was a positive and workout-willing bunch! The goal during these 2.5 days of line switching, was for students to get a taste of what sports do, try different ball games and test different forms of exercise.

On Wednesday, we started with a little theory about some events that have meant a lot to sports in Norway, how girls/ladies have gained more importance in sports and about general basic training. After the theory session we took a good session with tabata, and then Ulf's self-composed sport “OneBounce”.

On Thursday it was lovely weather outside and a pleasant temperature. We took the toboggan and walked up to the Tower before lunch, on the way down it was full speed on the toboggan! After lunch we played football before the gang went to a concert.

On Friday, the focus was on reaction and concentration. After the warm-up, we divided into five stations with different reaction exercises with tennis ball/volleyball, which they did very well! After the reaction drills, we played field hockey before finishing with basketball.

Those who chose Outdoor activities LETT as line switching, has been on the loop. Here they have been able to try out several projects of different scope. Some have made their own knife, while others have made outdoor furniture. The group thought it was nice to try something completely different, and the results were great too!

The gang on Mountain sports and kayaking had full run on line switching. They were allowed to practice lifesaving in snowy weather on Wednesday. Mountain hike up towards Toven on Thursday, and hike on the fjord in a sea kayak on Friday. Good mood, good weather and happy people!

On E-sports had students dive into the world of Valorant to explore the game. Participants in the group have varied experience with the game, some have previous experience while others try it for the first time. We have also dedicated time to exploring the theory behind mentality, as this concept is transferable and relevant to all learners, regardless of their personal interest in esports.

In this context, we have particularly focused on the concept of 'Growth Mindset' and how it can influence our approach to challenges and learning. Having a Growth Mindset involves embracing challenges as opportunities for growth and development, and this principle applies not only within esports, but extends to all aspects of life. We have explored concrete examples of how this mindset can help strengthen individual performance and coping, and we encourage all our students to integrate this perspective into their daily lives.

Music production is popular on line switching. Some had tried some from before, but many were quite fresh. This week they got to try making electronic music.

Band electives and the house band have been rehearsing and attending the TAKE ME BACK concert this week. A bit of an alternative arrangement for this group. The annual concert is a collaborative concert between Music Line at Mosjøen High School, KipUngdskole, Granmoen skole and us på Toppen. It was an amazing concert and the students were really impressed! We look forward to hearing more on Family Weekend.
