Rafting on Vefsna

On The Peak We have a lot of great opportunities for experiences in the surrounding area. One of them is rafting on Vefsna, and for many years we have had a good cooperation with RiverNorth Rafting at Trofors. The second week of school we take a day in the neighboring municipality and enjoy ourselves there. Pupils get good instruction on how to handle boats and rivers, before we throw ourselves out and down the river Vefsna. An experience of a lifetime!

The rafting trip on the river is done in groups, so there is plenty of time to explore the area and chill together. Not everyone wants to ride, and there are other things to do. We have camp at Grane Bygdetunand there it is perfect to enjoy. The Chefs At the Top we also take part, and good food makes life extra festive on a trip.

Rafting on Vefsna may look worse in photos than it is experienced in the boat, and when all safety precautions is taken it goes just fine. It is the water level of the river that determines the challenges. River North has the best guides who know the river and take safety seriously. We thank you for the trip and look forward to more experiences together!

Student meeting June 2026

This year we have set aside the weekend of June 12-14 for student meetings for former pupils at Toppen. Previously, we only invited the coals who have had an anniversary here, but now we are opening up to everyone who wants to meet.

Pupil nominated for Emmy

Student Ole-Gabriel Buljo at Music Production, today travels to New York to be present during the International Emmy Awards 2025. He is featured in the NRK series “Oro Jaska — Hold Kjeft”. The series has been nominated for an International Emmy in the Live-Action category for children and young people.

Receiving this award shows that Vefsn Folkehøgskole Toppen has become clearer for the business community, and then we have reached our goals for 2024 very well.

Toppen nominert til gullhanen

Vefsn Folkehøgskole Toppen har blitt nominert til Gullhanen av Mosjøen Næringsforening. Prisen deles ut til en bedrift som over tid har markert seg på en positiv måte i regionen.

Family weekend with success

Last weekend in November we have a family weekend at Toppen, and it is one of the most enjoyable events we have during the year.

Open Day and 125 Years at the Top

In connection with the school celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, we had an OPEN DAY at the school this weekend. It is always nice to visit the yard, and it is always nice to show the school to more people.

Invitation to Family Weekend 2024

On the weekend of December 29-1, we invite you to Vefsn Folkehøgskole Toppen for a family weekend. Then parents, siblings and/or other family have the opportunity to come and say hello, and see how we are doing here at the Top.

Top runner for Gambia Care

This year we hosted the school race at Vefsn Folkehøgskole Toppen on October 2, and the proceeds go to Gambia Care.

Who are the students?

The students at the top are a wonderfully nice bunch. Now first line week is over and we go to autumn break with a good feeling. Here are this year's students!

Rafting in Auster-Vefsna

Nothing is better than going on a trip to get to know each other, and we do that several times at the start of the year. This time we were at Trofors, with camp at Grane Bygdetun and rafting with RiverNorth in store.

Successful Anniversary Celebration at the Top

It was a wonderful celebration of our 125 years, and old friends were able to meet again. Such as former headmaster Leif Klæboe and former pupil Kari Melhuus Jenssen.

Give students additional points for Folkehøgskole!

Occasionally, small pen strokes can have major consequences. If the extra points are removed, people's colleges will face an uncertain future. Is that so clever?

School Closing 2024

The school year here at Vefsn Folkehøgskole Toppen is coming to an end, and we are pleased to invite parents and guardians to the end of school on May 11, 2024

Merete and Gambia Care

Merete Gustavsen Tvenning has a big heart and ardent commitment. And through Gambia Care, she has found her way to do something important for others. We at the Top visited Banjul in November and we have talked a little bit with Merete about life in Africa's smallest country.

Top of the Gambia Part 1

If we are going to have trips in the folk high school, they should be included as part of the training. And what educational perspectives will we have at the Top going forward? This was the starting point for us to travel to Gambia, and get to know people and culture we didn't know we needed to know. This is the first travel blog from the trip.
