Privacy policy for Vefsn folk high school

This Privacy Policy is about:

  • How Vefsn Folkehøgskole collects and uses personal data when you have applied for admission and while you are a student with us.
  • Who is responsible for the processing of your personal data.
  • What obligations Vefsn Folkehøgskole has when we process the data.
  • What rights you have as registered with us.

The Privacy Policy complies with the requirements set out in Act on the Processing of Personal Data (Personal Data Act).

What is personal data?

Personal data are all forms of data, information, information and assessments that can be linked to you as an individual, cf. section 2, no. 1 of the Personal Data Act. The decisive factor for whether a piece of information is personal data is whether the information can identify a specific person. Examples of personal data about you that are registered and processed at Vefsn folk high school are information such as name, photo, contact information, subject, absence, etc.

Processing of personal data at Vefsn folk high school

The purpose of the Personal Data Act is to protect the individual against privacy being violated through the processing of personal data. It is important for Vefsn Folkehøgskole that the processing of personal data constitutes as little intervention as possible for the individual data subject as is practicable, technically and economically feasible, cf. Personal Data Act §§ 8, 9, 11 and 28. As a data subject, you therefore have important rights that must be safeguarded.

All processing of personal data at Vefsn folk high school shall take place in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Vefsn Folkehøgskole shall not process personal data to a greater extent than is necessary to fulfill the purpose of the Folkehøgskole. Read more in the Public Colleges Act.

What personal data does Vefsn Folkehøgskole process?

If you are applying for admission to and/or are a student at Vefsn Folkehøgskole, we must collect and register, among other things, your name, birth number and contact information. The purpose of the registrations is to manage your application and your studies with us. You normally register the data yourself via folkhogskol.no. The data is stored in Wisweb Navi which is the system Vefsn folk high school uses for study administrative data.

All students are photographed. The image is used for ISIC study cards and stored in Wisweb Navi.

Personal data of third parties

Vefsn folk high school will be able to hand over or export data containing personal data to other systems, i.e. external data processors, for example to Lånakassassen.

Disclosure of personal data takes place according to Publicleglova.

The provisions of the Personal Data Act will not be able to limit the right of access where the request concerns personal data.

Your rights

Insight

You have the right to know what personal data is registered about you at Vefsn Folkehøgskole and how this data is processed, cf. the provisions of Section 18 of the Personal Data Act.

Correction, deletion

As a registered employee at Vefsn Folkehøgskole, you have the right in certain cases to request the rectification and erasure of information about yourself, cf. section 27 and section 28 of the Personal Data Act. For example, this may apply to information that is incorrect and/or incomplete, or information Vefsn Folkehøgskole does not have access to process.

Requests from you as a registered person must be answered free of charge and no later than within 30 days.

Who can I contact?

Responsible for processing

According to the provisions of the Personal Data Act, Vefsn Folkehøgskole is the principal who has overall responsibility for all processing of personal data and is the controller. The day-to-day monitoring of this responsibility is delegated to the administration, which responds to inquiries about the processing of personal data at Vefsn folk high school.

The Administration

The administration shall safeguard the privacy interests of both pupils and staff at Vefsn folk high school. The scheme is facilitated and managed by the Danish Data Protection Agency. The administration may, among other things, assist individuals registered with personal data at Vefsn Folkehøgskole to safeguard their rights. Use of Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer. Among other things, they contain information about which websites you visit. Cookies allow us to record how you use our website and we can continuously improve the website to make it easier and better to use.

Who sees the information?

We use the information internally within the organization. We do not use cookies to generate statistics and thus we cannot track your use of the website back to you as an individual. We ensure that the personal data that you provide us is not misused, cf. the rules of the Personal Data Act. This applies, for example, to information about how you use the website and all other data logged when visiting. Our cookies cannot spread malicious programs or harm your PC in any way.

  • Necessary cookies: We use cookies to remember choices you have made on the site and to increase usability. These will not be deleted after the end of the visit. This means that future visits to the website will be faster and more adapted to you. If you disable these, we cannot guarantee that all functionality on the website will work properly.
  • Session cookies: These are used, among other things, to register that a visitor is visiting the website. These will be deleted after the end of the visit.
  • Third-party cookies: These are cookies from another domain. These are used, among other things, to obtain visitor statistics in order to improve the user experience of the website. Google Analytics is the statistical tool we use.

Marketing

We also use cookies in collaboration with third party actors (Facebook) to provide you with relevant and personalized marketing on other websites you visit. The cookies used for this purpose contain only information about which pages you have visited on our website, and not information that can identify you as an individual.

Facebook

In order to show more relevant ads and make more effective use of advertising crowns on Facebook, we use measurement from Facebook that sets cookies on our website.

Web statistics

Folkehogskolene collects anonymised information about visitors at folkhogskole.no. The tool we use to collect these statistics is Google Analytics.

We collect web statistics to improve the website and measure how well it performs. Examples of what the statistics provide are how many people visit the website, which pages are visited, how long the visit lasts, which websites users come from and which browsers are used.
