Friends of the Top was started in the autumn of 1990, by pupils from the 1930s. In gratitude for what Vefsn Folkehøgskole had been for them for over 50 years, with this team they wanted to give something back to the school.

Friends of the Top has a Board of Directors with Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Board Member. On the board there is one representative from the staff at the school, and one from the student council.

The team has an annual meeting in January. In June each summer there are anniversary hits for the 10th, 25th and 50th anniversaries. Then the board of Friends of the Top is also present.

Friends of the Top has a wide field of activity. In this team, together with other Toppen friends, you can make the school known, and with the good mention it deserves.

With lottery sales and other events, Venner av Toppen has, among other things, had most of the school space stoned and prepared a nicer outdoor area, renovated and furnished a room now called Benum living room, and bought lighting rigs for the school. The team has also contributed exercise equipment in the gym, Christmas lighting for the Tower Building and new furniture for the dining room.

Friends of the Top constantly have new tasks. It is important that a lot of people stand together around them, so come and join the team. Remember also that while you can do something for Vefsn Folkehøgskole as a good team, you will get to know students from different cohorts and generations.

Friends of the Top encourages former pupils and staff, and all those who love Toppen, to join the team. By paying annual fee of NOK 100, - (NOK 150, - for couples), you are a joy and benefit to the school, if you do not have the ability to engage significantly in the teamwork.
