Top runner for Gambia Care
All the students at the school participated, and the race took place at the Halsøy football field below the school.
All income goes uncapped to our collaborator Gambia Care, which helps schools in The Gambia with maintenance, school supplies and tuition fees for children.
Gambia Care is also working to purchase stoves for neighborhood kitchens to prevent health-damaging amounts of smoke being breathed in by young and old.
In November, one from the staff and six fellows will travel to Gambia. Then they take with them the money from the school run, clothes they have collected, sanitary napkins the students have sewn and knitted clothes for premature births. The engagement among the students is amazing!
Pupils need to get sponsors for the race and we are also inviting local businesses to line up. Happy Homes Mosjøen is one of the businesses that supports the school run and this is the happy team that ran for them. Thank you and thank you for your support <3
The school run accommodates all forms of participation, and both runners and cheerleaders did what they could to make the day a success! Both students and teachers had formed teams, and there was nothing to say about the effort! We are excited to see how many crowns the top will receive in total, and remind you that there is still an open Splice and tilts that anyone can contribute on (#83740, note the toppentilgambia or the school race).
